“Atelier Yumia” follows the story of Yumia and her companions as they confront their pasts and uncertainties, pushing forward on a path they believe in. Set on an unexplored continent, players can utilize a wide array of items and actions to forge their own way forward. During real-time combat, you’ll face challenges that test your ability to make quick, strategic decisions. Combat is built around two types of attack ranges, allowing you to switch between them and adapt your skills accordingly. Additionally, items can be synthesized into weapons such as swords and spears, which you can use to attack.
These items are reusable, so don’t hesitate to deploy them as you fend off enemies blocking your progress. By manipulating the mana within ingredients, you can craft new items based on recipes, which can prove useful both in combat and exploration. The effectiveness of your crafted items depends on the ingredients you choose, as each one contains varying levels of mana. Take care in selecting them, as the power of your creations will shape your journey. Use Simple Synthesis to create tools for exploration and combat, as well as other items to support your progress. You can also build and customize bases, adding furniture and decorations as you wish.
The story takes place on a continent once ruled by the Aladissian Empire, a powerful nation that achieved great technological and alchemical advancements, keeping neighboring nations at bay. However, the empire met its tragic downfall in a sudden, mysterious cataclysm. Centuries have passed, and alchemy is now regarded as a dangerous and forbidden art, associated with destruction and considered “evil.”
Enter Yumia Liessfeldt, a lone alchemist who sets foot in this perilous land, hoping to uncover its lost secrets. After losing her mother in an accident three years ago, Yumia discovers her alchemical heritage, leaving her with lingering questions: Why did Aladiss fall? Why is alchemy now taboo? Is alchemy truly evil? Determined to uncover the truth, Yumia embarks on a journey into the unknown, believing that the answers she seeks lie within the ruins of the fallen continent.
