Driver: San Francisco is the fifth installment in the Driver series—an action-adventure racing game developed by Ubisoft Reflections and published by Ubisoft. Released in September 2011 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, and Windows, with a Mac OS X version following in March 2012, the game drops players into a fictional version of San Francisco and the Bay Area.
Behind the wheel of fully licensed real-world cars, players take on missions with a unique twist: the ability to instantly “shift” into any vehicle on the road (excluding some versions like the Wii). The story follows John Tanner, a hardened detective who falls into a coma while chasing his old enemy Charles Jericho, fresh off a prison escape. Stuck in a dream world, Tanner must unravel Jericho’s plan—before it becomes reality.
