The Book of Korvald narrates the tale of a Norse scribe who forms an alliance with an eldritch being named “Qhroth’un.” Contrary to historical records, Norse clans did have scribes, despite the belief that their folklore was solely preserved through oral traditions. Many written sagas that were critical of royal families and the church were systematically eradicated, along with their authors. Korvald, one such scribe, faced a tragic fate marked by deception and suffering orchestrated by powerful religious empires and unseen cosmic entities.
His journey commences with the loss of his family and village, branding him a heretic and facing imminent death. However, his capture serves a larger, more sinister purpose. In his darkest moment, Korvald strikes a pact with Qhroth’un that alters the course of events. Maps/Environments/Areas: Each chapter unfolds across an entire country, encompassing over 30 diverse areas. Beginning in Denmark near Ribe, drawing inspiration from the region’s conversion to Christianity in the 9th century.
Weapons: Discover over 200 unique weapons available for acquisition or purchase from various shops, including axes, swords, maces, whips, spears, flails, daggers, shields, and even books. Artifacts: Equip over 30 distinct artifacts and special off-hand weapons, enabling abilities such as raising Templar knights as zombie minions, inflicting plagues on foes, and causing NPCs (and some enemies) to strip naked. Runes: Uncover the true essence and origins of runes and runestones, allowing Korvald to wield their potent forces. Command flaming cyclones, lightning storms, arctic blizzards, healing waters, and summon eldritch beings to aid in combat.
Additional Features: Customize your character with a talent tree boasting 15 unique talents, engage in over 30 boss battles, partake in minigames like fishing and arena battles, explore a repeatable roguelike dungeon system, unlock galleries for cinematic and intimate scenes, and interact with fully voiced characters.
