GAME OVERVIEW NEED FOR SPEED HEAT
Need for Speed Heat is a racing game set in Palm City, an open-world environment inspired by Miami, Florida, and its surrounding regions. The game’s map showcases a mix of landscapes, from mountainous terrain to wide-open fields. Unlike Need for Speed Payback, Heat doesn’t feature a continuous day-night cycle; instead, players can manually switch between day and night.
- Daytime offers sanctioned races, where players earn cash to buy new cars and upgrades.
- Nighttime brings illegal street races, rewarding players with reputation (rep). As a player’s rep increases, police presence and aggression intensify.
To keep their earnings, players must evade the police and reach a safehouse before getting busted or having their car destroyed. The game also includes a story-driven campaign centered around the city’s corrupt police force, led by Lieutenant Mercer.
