Gal Guardians: Servants of the Dark is a true Metroidvania sequel to the classic action game Gal Guardians: Demon Purge. This time, two new characters—Kirika and Masha—take center stage, each with their own unique playstyle. You’ll need to switch between the two at will to explore expansive areas, battle enemies, and take down powerful bosses. Discover hidden passages, trap doors, and solve puzzles scattered throughout the Demon Realm as you search for the scattered bones of the Demon Lord, Maxim.
Unlock new sub-weapons and abilities as you progress, opening up fresh routes and strategies. Every tool you gain will be essential to fully exploring the world. As you find and revive Maxim’s loyal vassals, they’ll help strengthen your base—the Demon Lord’s castle. Rebuilding the castle will provide helpful bonuses to assist you on your journey.
Meet a colorful cast of vassals and see their personalities unfold through story cutscenes. Kirika, the older sister, attacks from a distance with demonic guns, while her younger sister Masha handles close-range combat with her whip. Both sisters can use demonic energy to unleash powerful sub-weapons, but strategic switching between them is key to overcoming different challenges.
If one of the sisters falls in battle, you can perform a “Sister Rescue” by returning to her last location and reviving her. As you defeat enemies and open treasure chests, you’ll earn consumable items, sub-weapons, and passive enhancements known as Demon Relics, which drop randomly.
These items will help unlock new special abilities for the sisters and provide access to previously unreachable areas of the map. Craft and combine sub-weapons to customize their power, utilizing items that might otherwise go unused. Gather resources, enhance your abilities, and power up as you venture deeper into the Demon Realm.
