For centuries, the Church has governed humanity, claiming to protect it from the thousand-eyed serpent lurking deep within the world’s core. As the Immortal Hunters fought to hold back the nightmarish Khemrids—servants of the snake god—humanity rallied to the cause of the Holy War. In return, the Church demanded only one thing: obedience.
As the War raged on, heretics and blasphemers were thrown into dungeons, ancient texts that contradicted Church doctrine were burned, and even the most devout were sacrificed. Their bodies, martyred by the Church, fed the Holy Fire, the one thing the Khemrids feared beyond the holy warriors themselves. But all they managed was to delay the inevitable.
Now, as the Khemrids launch their final invasion, the Apocalypse begins. Amid the ruins of the capital, you control one of four surviving Hunters, each with unique abilities, as you fight your way across a burning urban landscape. The story is full of twists and turns, and the fate of the world may still be within reach.
Caught between the Church and the Khemrid invasion, the Hunters find themselves surrounded by unlikely heroes, defiant heretics, deceitful Cardinals, and everyone else trapped in the city. As it crumbles, experience the End Times through four different perspectives. The clash between the Church and the Khemrids sets off a cascade of other battles: ambition and the thirst for power tear the Church apart, a courageous heretic rises against its corruption, and the truth, long suppressed, struggles to be heard after centuries of oppression.
