Life Eater is a horror fantasy kidnapping simulator where players take on the role of a modern-day druid residing in suburbia. Balancing a mundane job to fund their true calling, the protagonist must perform an annual ritual to prevent the world’s demise. In order to delay the apocalypse, a specific yet vaguely described number of human sacrifices must be made each year. Through a video editing-inspired interface, players delve into the lives of their victims, uncovering details of their schedules one block at a time.
By prying into the intimate aspects of their targets’ routines, players must strategically abduct them before authorities intervene. With time ticking away and a lengthy list of names to fulfill, players must make careful choices and hope that the dark deity they serve truly exists. Key features include an innovative “timeline” interface for a unique analog horror experience, in-depth exploration of unsuspecting targets, a blend of authored and generated stories for replayability, a fully voiced story mode featuring Xalavier Nelson Jr. and Jarret Griffis, an original atmospheric soundscape by David Mason, composer of DREDGE, and an endless mode set to release within a month post-launch.
