The latest feature introduces Lossless Scaling, which enables the generation of additional frames in games that do not have this capability, such as emulators. Lossless Scaling is particularly useful for upscaling modern games when running them at their native resolution is not possible due to GPU limitations. It helps eliminate the blurriness caused by bilinear scaling from the GPU driver.
Furthermore, it can enhance older or pixel-art games that do not support modern resolutions or full-screen modes. For modern games, it is recommended to use LS1 or AMD FSR. For pixel-art games, Integer Scaling or xBR are the optimal choices. Anime4K is most effective for cartoons or anime-style visuals. Scaling is most beneficial when your GPU is the limiting factor. For optimal performance, limit the game to a stable frame rate, ensuring Lossless Scaling has the necessary resources to function effectively.
