Which hero will you select to confront Zagor in his lair this time? Originally a 1982 Fighting Fantasy gamebook authored by Ian Livingstone and Steve Jackson, this game has been reimagined as an epic tabletop adventure, complete with new areas to explore, characters to encounter, and, of course, monsters to defeat! As you delve deep into the mountain, Zagor’s lair unfolds before you. Each character has distinct motivations for entering Firetop Mountain, influencing the narrative and the choices available to you. Combat is conducted using digital miniatures within a simultaneous, turn-based system known as GridBluff, featuring over 100 unique hero and monster figurines to discover. Experiment with a variety of engaging battle strategies! Each hero possesses their own unique set of attacks and maneuvers. Whether you prefer poison, crossbows, holy magic, or the classic sword and shield, there’s a hero to match your playstyle. Venture forth, defeat monsters, and earn Souls to demonstrate your prowess and unlock all eighteen heroes. Will you embody the noble and seasoned adventurer Alexandra of Blacksand? Or perhaps you’ll choose the virtuous path of the battle-priest Landov Lowan? Avoid the dangers of direct combat with Krea Datura’s evasive sleep-bombs, or charge into battle with the powerful rhino-man, Twenty-Three. The choice is yours!
