Mansion is a 2D survival horror adventure game created by the independent Japanese developer Alibi, known for titles like Welcome to Our Western Hotel! and Adventure World -Alisa the Swordsman-. Describing the events in Mansion as a cohesive “story” may be generous; the game starts with Sara and her partner Bruno being trapped in a mansion overnight, but what follows is a series of random events with little coherence.

It feels like the plot was inspired by a typical teen horror movie premise. After Bruno is seemingly killed by a sudden monster attack, Sara decides to explore the mansion alone. The gameplay in Mansion can be likened to a 2D adaptation of the classic Resident Evil formula. Players control the game using the arrow keys, with Z, X, C, and V keys serving various functions. Z and X manage menus, V opens the inventory for reading notes, using healing items, or changing ammo, and C cycles through weapons. Initially, using weapons may feel awkward; you need to select the weapon, enter the stationary battle stance by holding X, and then use the weapon by pressing Z. Interesting<\/p>\n\n\n\n
